Liyu Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.  He received his Ph. D. in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo in September 2007.  Before that he received his M. S. (2000) and B. S. (1997) from Fudan University, Shanghai , China, both in Computer Science.  His research interests are in theoretical computer science and its applications, with emphasis on computational complexity, complexity-based cryptography, and design and analysis of algorithms.  Dr. Zhang’s research has been sponsored by National Science Foundation and U.S. Department of Education.
