"....The method I used to prepare for the exam involved a combination of the lecture notes and the textbook.  I found it effective to read the chapter carefully, cross-reference what was given in the lecture notes and re-read the points I thought were the more important.  Looking at the figures and tables also made the relevant information written in the text much more clear....".

"....I keep up with the reading, since the chapters are very long.  I also forced myself to prepare and study hard for the quizzes.  I treat the quizzes as little tests and do not try to only memorize definitions.  When studying the nights before the exam, I study one chapter at a time and do not move until I know all of the material...."
