FALL 1999 EXAM 1

Kiki de la Fuente
Major: Biology
Minor: Chemistry and English
Hometown: Brownsville, Texas

Her secrets to get good grades are:

1.  Before I start studying, I pray that I retain and understand what I study.
2.  Go over my notes daily and read the chapters.
3.  Study for my quizzes like I am preparing for a test.
4.  Pray before each exam

Jeffrey Michael Pierce
Major: Biology (Pre-Med)
Hometown: Corpus Christi, Texas
Hobbies: saxophone playing,
exercising, beer sampling.

His secrets to get good grades are:

  • I read sections in the book to supplement the lecture notes. Memorizing the notes before quiz isn't impossible, but straight memorization doesn't last in my brain.  When I read and see pictures in the book the information is easier to recall and lasts longer
  • Study the multiple choice questions at the end of each chapter.

  • I study with friends that have weird senses of humor.  The bizarre mnemonics and images couldn't get out of my head if I tried to forget them.
