My secrets for good grades are:
Try to keep up with the reading before quizzes and tests. I don't save it all until the day before the exam.
I pay special attention to the figures, tables, highlight articles in the textbook.
Take my own notes in addition to the notes from the web page, including any specific examples given during lecture.
When I don't have time to read (or re-read) the chapters carefully, the little chapter summary boxes are a great way to get the important points and concepts quickly.
