  • Get Visual Studio on your personal machine. Follow the instructions here.
  • Some additional C++ exercises out on the web. Of course quality varies, and things might look different, but these all work with roughly the same material as this course.
    • Problem sets, solutions and lecture notes from MIT Open Courseware
    • A whole lot of exercises with community solutions. Trick is reading off the problems w/o looking at the solutions right there.
    • A set of problems with answers.
    • Some interesting problems to check yourself.
    • A google developer page with some good examples and perspectives to check your knowledge.

  • ACM study day Thu 5/4, Noon-Midnight in the ENGR 2nd floor lab (2.212, I think).
  • CRA-W April events (including research funding!)
  • CS Mentoring Program, Thursdays 12:15-1:15 in ENGR 1.268. Focus on CS1-2 level solving skills. Problems posted every week in advance of the next meeting.
  • Computer Science Program Notes, including information on degrees, registration, internships, etc.
  • ACM meetings every Tuesday starting January 31st, 12:15pm in ENGR 1.268. Student groups are a great way to meet other CS and CMPE students and learn life & career related stuff. People with a strong support network tend to win.
  • ENGR 2.212 is the best lab to work in on campus! We control it, and it's specifically set aside for CSCI/CMPE students.
  • Here is a very simple, excellent post about Study Groups (University of Minnesota Duluth).
  • Google scholarships. Very good page to keep track of, both for yourself and for high school students you know with interest in CS.
