Dr. Sanjeev Kumar

 

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar is active in research, development & teaching in the area of Computer Networks, Cyber Security, AI/ML Applications, High-Speed Internet Switching/Routing, Wireless Ad Hoc Networks, Cloud Computing, IoT. Before joining UTRGV/UTPA, Dr. Kumar worked with the leading Computer & Networking companies in the United States. In the Data networking industry, Dr. Kumar played a leading role in planning, research & development of new communications equipment and networks.

 

Dr. Kumar has authored over 80 peer reviewed Journal and Conference papers. Dr. Kumar's open access papers have been downloaded over 10 thousand times and his research findings have been cited by other researchers in the field. Dr. Kumar has served as a member of technical program committee for numerous national and international conferences and served on editorial board of several Journals. He has been awarded US and International patents for his inventions in the area of Internet architecture. Dr. Kumar received the Ph.D. degree from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, North Carolina State University , Raleigh, North Carolina. He is the founder of NSF funded Network Security Research Lab in Electrical/Computer Engineering Dept. at UTRGV. His research and development projects are funded by National Science Foundation, Department of Homeland Security, and National Institute of Health. He is a winner of the UT Systems Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award, and many UTRGV/UTPA Teaching Excellence Awards. He is an elected Senior member of IEEE.
