Initial Design & Rapid Prototypes

Team Formation & Initial Design (in-class 3/26)

  • Team formation
  • Each team member briefly present the individual design that you did
  • Create a team repo (first person to accept create the team, remaining members join)

  • Complete an Initial Design document together: docx, pdf
  • Commit the initial design doc to the main branch in a folder called Documents

Rapid Prototype Planning (in-class 3/26)

  • Complete the Rapid Prototype Planning activity together: docx, pdf
  • Commit the doc to the main branch in a folder called Documents
  • Each team member create a branch named <your github name> prototype for your prototype

Finish both documents in-class or as soon as possible after. Rapid Prototypes are due Tue 4/9, playable in-class.

Playtest Plan

Prototype debriefing and playtest plan (in-class 4/9)

  • Discuss as a team and takes notes in a new Playtest Plan document in your repo:
    1. What did you learn from each prototype?
    2. How does that change/clarify/refine your design?
    3. Describe the playable experience you are going to deliver in two weeks
    4. Plan: who's working on what, how are you coordinating
  • Update and finalize Design Document accordingly (by class time on Thu 4/11)

Playtest will be Thu 4/25, playable in-class.
