About every 5 years I try a tournament. Here are the videos from my last competition (2016). I entered and won the expert super-heavyweight division: match 1 , match 2
If you are interested in Jiu-jitsu, let me know! There are a number of easy ways to try it out. If you are a student, you can't beat the UTRGV Jiu-Jitsu club. I am the faculty advisor and a head coach for the club. The practices are VERY beginner friendly, and always free. Another great option is the gym 80/20 Jiu-Jitsu Academy on University (next to Grind Coffee). This place is run by Eric Martinez who is an expert teacher and the other head coach for the UTRGV BJJ club. Here is a nice writeup on why 80/20 is a great place to train: Why join 80/20.
