1) Join the CS class discord channel.  After joining, post two things in the general chat:

	a) How much (if any) programming experience do you have, and in what language.

	b) Something interesting about yourself.


Below is the invitation to join the CS discord server (if you haven't joined already).  Once you join and follow the instructions, you should automatically be able to access the channels corresponding to your CS courses (if your instructor is using discord).

Once someone joins, they need to follow the instructions in the "No Access" channel to get access to all the general channels and their CSCI classes that are using channels here. They must have a UTRGV login to do so.

2) Get the Zybook for this course.

We will use ZyBooks’ CSCI 1470: Computer Science I Spring 2024 online textbook ($64), which contains interactive
examples and activities. This textbook is required as the interactive activities will count for your course grade. zyBook
ISBN: 979-8-203-27789-3. You can get it directly from the publisher or through our bookstore.

3. Subscribe. Please enter your UTRGV email address when requested and enter 03 when the section is requested. If
you choose an incorrect section (or no section at all) I will not be able to grade your submission.
Students may begin subscribing on Aug 12, 2024 and the cutoff to subscribe is Nov 29, 2024. Subscriptions will last until
Dec 26, 2024.

Once you have subscribed, read chapters 1 and 2 and complete all PA's by the end of the week.
