Catapult Assembly

You are now ready to create the final catapult assembly.  It is amazing how quickly you have reached this point in your training.  You have become a great asset to our campaign.  I remember just a few weeks ago when you were learning how to make the pin for the cart.  Don't ever forget the basics.  You can always go back and visit any of the previous camps if you need to do so.

In this tent, you will learn how to put all of the sub-assemblies together. You will be creating some advanced mates in this lesson and learning how to modify parts inside an assembly.

For example, you will be assembling the axle and shooting beam in such a way that they will move the same as they would on the real catapult.  It is very important that you pay close attention to these techniques.  You will be using them for you final project in a few weeks.

You will be required to create an assembly drawing of the completed catapult assembly beam and update (remember - revision A) the beam and base drawings to show the changes made during this lesson.  Click on the PART 1 movie to learn how to build the sub-assembly and click on the PART 2 movie to create a detailed assembly drawing with a bill of materials (BOM).

After your training is complete in this tent, please proceed to the next tent to receive your instructions.
