Assembly Drawing of the Pivot Stand
Assembly Drawing of the Pivot Stand
In this tent you will learn how to build the pivot support stand sub-assembly for the catapult. We could assemble the whole catapult as one assembly; however, it is easier to break the assembly down into smaller subassemblies.
You will be required to create an assembly drawing of the pivot stand. Click on the drawing above to learn how to build the sub-assembly and create a drawing with a bill of materials (BOM).
As defined on Wikipedia:
A bill of materials (BOM) is a list of the raw materials, sub-assemblies, intermediate assemblies, sub-components, components, parts and the quantities of each needed to manufacture an end product.
Put simply, a BOM is a list of parts that can be referenced in the assembly drawing. This way the workers (the people actually assembling the components) will be able to tell which part to use and where to use it.
After your training is complete in this tent, please proceed to the next tent to receive your instructions.
