2019 Workshop on Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (PDEs)
with Interdisciplinary Applications

November 16, 2019, The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley -- Edinburg Campus

Organized by:
Zhijun Qiao (chair)
and
Dr. Dambaru Bhatta, Dr. Eleftherios Gkioukelas, and Dr. Vesselin Vatchev.

Welcome

The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences is pleased to announce the 2019 Workshop on Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) with Interdisciplinary Applications. The workshop provides a leading forum for disseminating the latest research in the areas of nonlinear PDEs, including qualitative analysis, integrable systems, negative flows, peakons, symmetries and geometry, and nonlinear soliton models, and brings together students, faculty, and visiting scholars from the nonlinear science community to initiate new collaborations and co-operations in their common research fields.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM at the Edinburg Campus of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Welcome to deliver a talk at the workshop and please send your talk title and abstract to Dr. Eleftherios Gkioulekas at eleftherios.gkioulekas@utrgv.edu or Dr. Zhijun Qiao at zhijun.qiao@utrgv.edu, not later than Nov 8, 2019.

  • Border Patrol: Due to our proximity with the border, be sure to have your immigration documents or proof of citizenship with you, whether you travel by car or airplane. E.g. here is one of the border patrol checkpoints. You will need documents for the return trip, even if you are travelling by airplane.
  • Lunch and Dinner: Complimentary lunch at the University Dining Hall, in honor of the participants, will be provided by the UTRGV School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences on Saturday to the speakers. You will be required to bring your nametag to the University Dining Hall, to eat at no charge. Some of the hotels above have dinner within walking distance. However, your best options, listed below, are accessible by car only.
